Instead of sitting in traditional rows, ILA students immerse themselves in interactive Innovation Labs and personalized tutorials, where they develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world leadership skills. 7:00 AM- 8:00 AM
Breakfast & Morning Routines
The day at Innovative starts early, with breakfast served from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. During this time, students are encouraged to socialize, and or complete journaling or quiet reading, to set a positive tone for the day. This time also includes brief interactions with teachers and staff to address any concerns or prepare students for the day ahead. .
8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Morning Advisory
Following breakfast, students participate in morning advisory. This daily gathering sets the tone for the day, offering a time for announcements, goal-setting, and motivational exercises. Students participate in leadership activities, share reflections, and discuss daily intentions. It’s also an opportunity to promote a positive mindset and build community among peers
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
Block 1
The first academic block at Innovative Leadership Academy focuses on core subjects, including Math, Science, and English Language Arts. Lessons are designed to be interactive, collaborative, and student-driven, with project-based learning at the center. Teachers emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving, ensuring that students actively engage with the material rather than passively absorbing information.

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Block 2
During the second academic block, students continue their focus on key subjects, building on the knowledge and skills developed earlier in the day. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all students, offering both enrichment and support as needed.
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Block 3
The third block is a continuation of core academic instruction. This may include cross-disciplinary work, where subjects like History, Language Arts, and Social Studies are intertwined to provide students with a more holistic view of the world around them. Teachers encourage students to think critically and make connections between subjects.
11:30-12:00
Lunch
Students enjoy a 30-minute lunch break, offering a chance to relax, recharge, and socialize with peers. Lunch is served in a communal setting, fostering social interaction and community building.
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Mid-day Break
After lunch, students take a mid-day break to engage in light physical activity, mindfulness practices, or independent reading. This break helps students refocus and prepares them for the remainder of the day.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
Block 4
The fourth academic block allows students to dive deeper into subjects such as Science, Social Studies, or project-based interdisciplinary work. Students work both independently and collaboratively to apply concepts and solve real-world problems, developing critical skills for leadership and innovation.
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
STEAM SUPER TEKS Innovation Labs
Students actively participate in the TEKS-STEAM Super Innovation Lab,
Through cutting-edge technology and hands-on exploration, students engage with:
✅ Robotics Kits – Designing, coding, and engineering solutions.
✅ 3D Printers – Bringing ideas to life through digital fabrication.
✅ Meta Quest AR & Holobox Technology – Immersive simulations that enhance learning beyond the classroom.
2:30 PM - 3:00 PM
High Impact Tutorials
This period is dedicated to personalized learning. During High Impact Tutorials, students receive individualized support or enrichment in areas where they need additional help or challenge. Teachers work one-on-one or in small groups with students to ensure mastery of key concepts.
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM
Electives
Students choose from a wide range of elective courses that reflect their interests and talents. Electives may include Music, Art, Drama, Coding, Robotics, or Physical Education. These courses provide students with opportunities to explore their passions and develop skills that align with their future goals.
3:45 PM - 4:00 PM
Afternoon Huddle
The day wraps up with the Afternoon Huddle, a time for students to reflect on their accomplishments, share progress on their goals, and prepare for the transition into afterschool activities. This closing huddle reinforces the day’s leadership themes and promotes a sense of community.
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Afterschool & Dinner
Students who remain for the afterschool program engage in enrichment activities, clubs, or academic tutoring. The afterschool period provides additional time for academic support, extracurricular development, or further exploration in Innovation Labs. Dinner is served during this time, ensuring that students are nourished and ready for the evening’s activities.
